Brief
Create an identity for specialist coffee bar/live music venue, Common Ground. Given brand values were: high quality consumables, new music and talent, non-corporate atmosphere, designer surroundings and a cultural focus.
Solution
An eclectic design taking inspiration from 1950s Soho espresso bars, aiming to reignite a sense of expression and discussion in coffee houses. Brightly coloured strips of a vinyl door curtain burst out of the 'roast coffee bean' logo, on top of a lined pattern based on the iconic Formica plastic table tops.
